What we do

Construction is often a time-consuming and complicated undertaking. From developing a comprehensive scope of work to ensuring that the work is done correctly, on time, and on budget, the complexities are numerous. In addition, construction is laden with risk that can result in extreme loss.

We provide customized training and consultation to help ensure that your construction projects are done right without unnecessary exposure to risk.

As knowledgeable experts, we can evaluate your current contracting practices and assess your risk and effectiveness. Whether you repair, remodel, or build new, the contracting procedures are generally the same and they include:

an accurate description of the project-called the Scope of Work. We provide a comprehensive list of construction activities to help ensure that needed work is not overlooked. Should a change of work result from unknown conditions, we outline the proper change order procedure.

Once the work is described in the construction documents, bid documents must be prepared and the proposals evaluated for accuracy. We show you what to look for before selecting a contractor. Contracts must also contain extensive provisions to protect you if the job goes south.

Permits and contractor payment must also be properly handled so that you are afforded protection by laws and governing entities.

Because contracting is approximately half of the construction process, you need to get it right. Let us help you establish systems that will increase your efficiency and reduce your exposure to loss. For an extensive list of of the areas we address, click here.
